The Art of Holding Space: Workshop for Partners and Birth Companions

NEXT DATE:
28th June, Puerto de la Cruz

So much more than just ‘holding a hand’ during birth.

A practical and experiential workshop designed to help your partner or birth companion take an active, conscious, and truly valuable role during birth. Here you will learn how to support, protect, and facilitate the process in a real and meaningful way, leaving behind the myths we see in films and TV shows.

Save your spot and transform your birth experience.

Why this workshop?

In films and TV shows, birth companions are often portrayed as nervous, overwhelmed, or unsure of what to do. In real life, the same thing happens… not because they don’t want to help, but because no one has taught them how to truly support a birth.

The Art of Holding Space was created to change this. So that your partner or birth companion can stop improvising and become a true team with you during this unique moment.

Here you will learn how to balance two worlds:

  • The rational world: logistics, decisions, environment

  • The instinctive world: emotions, body, process

And you will understand that supporting is not just about ‘holding a hand’, but about presence, care, and genuine support.

The role of the birth companion

The birth companion is not just ‘there to support’. They are part of the process.

Their presence can make a huge difference in how birth is experienced.

They are the one who:

  • Provides emotional support when the intensity increases

  • Protects the space so that mum can surrender to the proce

  • Supports without taking over or directing

  • Takes care of practical things so that mum doesn’t have to step out of her process

  • Reminds, guides, and brings calm when needed

When the birth companion knows what to do, everything changes.

The mother can trust more, surrender more… and birth can unfold from a different place.

Become a true team for birth.

Who will be guiding you through this experience?

Amanda Lázaro, founder of Espacio Semillas and the retreats Creciendo Juntas and Riega tu Semilla.

I am a mother, a woman, and I support other women on their journey into motherhood, helping them connect with their bodies, their emotions, and their babies.

Throughout my journey, I have come to understand that birth is not only a physical process, but a profound experience in which the environment and the people who provide support play a fundamental role.

That is why The Art of Holding Space was created: a space where couples and birth companions can share and learn practical tools to support birth through presence, respect, and trust.

Through my experience as a birth companion, I create spaces where we not only learn, but also connect, understand, and transform the way we experience birth.

Supporting women and their partners during such an important moment is one of the most beautiful experiences of my life, and I do it from a place of deep respect, sensitivity, and love 🤍
