Fate, coincidence, or my baby’s good fortune brought an online prenatal yoga class into my path.
I contacted Amanda and started attending her yoga classes. The feeling during each class was pure positive energy… I felt amazing while practicing. The more challenging moments reminded us of the little Ironbaby waiting for us, and the sense of wellbeing after each class made me want more.
We started with one class a week, then moved to two… and I was so happy. I felt good, full of energy after every class. I felt strong, powerful, and I became more and more convinced that I could have the birth I dreamed of: a natural birth, without unnecessary medicalisation or intervention. Each class was another step towards feeling strong, both physically and mentally.
I could have a bad day or a restless night… but once I practiced yoga with Amanda, I always finished with a smile, feeling happy, energised, and deeply connected with my body.
At the beginning of each class, Amanda would ask us how we were feeling and adapt the practice to our physical and emotional needs that day.
I practiced yoga until the day before giving birth… and I truly believe that all the tools I gained during those months of practicing yoga with Amanda supported me during labour: helping me breathe, stay calm, understand that each contraction was bringing me closer to my baby, give my body and my baby the time they needed to adapt to change, and honour that transformation.
Thanks to this, I was able to welcome my baby through a natural, non-medicalised birth, without an episiotomy, and with an intact perineum.
I have so much to be grateful for… I feel incredibly blessed that life brought someone with so much light, kindness, and wisdom as Amanda into my path.

“When I found out I was going to become a mother, all the fears you can imagine came up for me. I was torturing myself day after day, until I took some time to reflect on what I truly wanted, and that’s when I started to enjoy the journey.

Espacio Semillas, Amanda, and her community came into my life at a moment in my pregnancy when medical labels often begin to appear, and with them, anxiety. The way she connects with us through respect, active listening, and by bringing us together to share the common experience of pregnancy… makes you feel welcomed and understood.

Meeting Amanda has been a beautiful gift from the universe.
From the very beginning of my pregnancy, I had been looking for the kind of energetic, physical, and spiritual support that yoga offers, because I believe it is essential during the journey of growing a new life. So when I ‘happened’ to receive a photo of a prenatal yoga workshop in Tenerife, I couldn’t have been happier. I looked at the date with excitement, but unfortunately, I couldn’t join.
Luckily, I thought of looking for the person who was offering it on social media and, to my delight, I discovered that she taught weekly online prenatal yoga classes. One message was all it took for Amanda to share her phone number with me and send me a couple of voice messages, with her usual joy and positive energy, encouraging me to join the next session. The best part was that she was pregnant herself, and there were also a couple of other women who were at a similar stage of pregnancy… coincidences? I think they were beautiful little synchronicities.
What a beautiful first class, and all the ones that followed! The feeling of being in the right place at the right time. Without a doubt, connecting with these brave women, who prioritise their feminine instinct, wellbeing, peace, and the need to create a bond with their babies, has been one of the most beautiful paths I have walked during this ever-changing and challenging stage that is pregnancy.
Amanda has beautifully woven together all our uncertainties and strengths through the conversations at the beginning of each class, where we could share how we were feeling and experiencing our journey that week. Then, through the nourishing yoga practices, she helped us awaken the power within us, reminded us through affirmations of how capable we are, and gave us the space to dedicate time to ourselves and our babies, despite the busyness of daily life and social pressures.
